You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:
- Under the direction of LS-PRM execute established Production Research Trial Plans. Plant trials, generate reliable information on the production of new hybrids and parent lines, process samples, and assist in reporting and distributing findings.
- Collect agronomic data and conduct assessments in nursery, production trials (crop performance), soil health, and environmental factors to determine viability of production and to identify any issues or challenges that may arise.
- Take detailed phenotypic notes to measure and characterize new parent lines. Analyze the data using statistical analysis, visualization tools and comparison with existing datasets or reference standards.
- Lead organizing and preparing seed for trials, planting, and supporting administrative tasks for data collection.
- Monitor trial growth, assist in cultural care, direct field crews, and maintain trial plots.
- Safely apply, and work with agrochemicals as needed.
- Lead and oversee harvest activities and efficiently manage labor crew.
- Process post-harvest samples and distribute to testing lab, data entry.
- Take the lead in data preparation, organization, analysis, and distribution of presentations.
- Conduct off-site trial activities and field visits as required. Review outcomes of trials and field visits to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in agronomic science, crop management techniques, and sustainable agriculture practices. May also participate in industry conferences and workshops.
- Preferred B.S. in Agriculture.
- Preferred 2+ years’ work experience in vegetable seed.
- Possess or be capable of obtaining relevant state Pesticide Applicator's License within one year of start date with the company.
- Possess or be capable of obtaining a Certified Crop Advisor status within one year of the start date with the company.
