Position: Industrial Electrician - $38.28 + 10% Quarterly Bonus

Amalgamated Sugar is seeking Idaho Licensed Journeyman Electricians to work at our Nampa Facility. This is a year-round, full-time position offering excellent pay, including a quarterly retention bonus, plus excellent benefits.

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair of electrical fixture apparatus, wiring, and controls equipment. The selected candidate will also be responsible for planning new or modified installations intended to provide access for future maintenance and avoid hazardous configurations. You must possess a current Journeyman Electrical License for the State of Idaho.

Pay
  • Regular day shift starting pay is $38.28 with ability to advance to $41.07 per hour as you learn the operation and demonstrate your skills.
  • Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts include an additional $2.00 per hour.
  • Additional Retention Bonus of 10% of work wages paid each quarter to Journeyman in good standing.

Job Requirements
  • Must have own set of Electrical Journeyman hand tools.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of various electrical troubleshooting methods used in commercial and manufacturing plant operations.
  • Must have the ability and demonstrate willingness to work various hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays if needed and possibly rotate if required as part of a day/night 12-hour shift schedule.
  • Perform a wide range of electrical and repair functions using acceptable troubleshooting methods, arrive at proper solutions, and make necessary repairs in a timely and acceptable manner.
  • Able to lift 55 lbs., reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and move equipment as needed. Must be comfortable in year around outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, and working around moving mechanical equipment.
  • Able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English including safety procedures, safety signs, work orders, schedules, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and manufacturing standards and procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
  • Any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the pre-hire steps of background check, drug screening, and fitness test. On your first day of orientation, you are also required to pass a safety test in English with a score of 70% or better.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a current Journeyman Electrical License for the State of Idaho.
  • Three to five years of experience working as a Journeyman Electrician with preference given to industrial and continuous manufacturing environments.
  • Be able to identify and properly use several different types of Electrical tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and successfully troubleshoot and take corrective action.
  • Physically capable of climbing ladders and stairs several times per shift.
  • Must be able and willing to work both indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work at various heights, using ladders, scaffolding or other equipment as necessary.
  • Perform repairs on equipment such as various size motors, generators and turbines or other related process equipment normally found within the scope of a manufacturing plant, such as, but not limited to 3-phase 480‑volt power distribution systems, troubleshoot motor starters and circuit breakers, medium voltage 4160, large electrical generators, troubleshoot control wiring VFD’s and PLC’s.
  • Must have clear working knowledge of voltmeters, megger, ohm meters, etc.
