PositionSummary
We're seeking a restoration technician to join our team, focusing on a mix of mitigation and rebuild/reconstruction projects. This role is ideal for a hands‑on individual who is ready to tackle water, fire, and mold damage, as well as play a crucial part in the subsequent reconstruction phases. We value candidates with IICRC certifications, as they demonstrate a commitment to industry standards and best practices.
Experience and AHERA certifications in asbestos & lead abatements are a significant plus and will be a key consideration. The ideal candidate will be a motivated problem‑solver with a strong work ethic, able to work both independently and as part of a team to restore properties and peace of mind for our clients.
- Evaluate water damage in residential and commercial settings, determine appropriate mitigation steps, and implement drying strategies.
- Safely operate water extraction pumps, dehumidifiers, air movers, and other specialized tools to remove moisture and dry affected areas.
- Keep accurate records of damages, equipment usage, and mitigation progress; create detailed reports for clients and insurance companies.
- Follow industry standards and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and the team.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, keeping them informed and reassured throughout the mitigation process.
- Help with cleaning, disinfecting, and preparing properties for repair and reconstruction following mitigation.
- Manage tasks on your own while also collaborating with fellow technicians and supervisors.
- Reliable and predictable attendance.
- Traveling is required.
- Proficient in using mitigation tools and equipment.
- Able to document damage thoroughly and accurately.
- Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
- 2 years of experience in water mitigation, restoration, or a related field is required.
- IICRC certification (e.g., WRT) is a plus.
- AHERA Contractor/Supervisor or Worker certification is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
This position operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires the ability to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling and kneeling. The physical demands described in this job description represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is labor intensive, with lifting required.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer, and fall weather. Assume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers.
May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated. When working onsite, you will be required to wear common personal protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety vest.
