Position OverviewThe Landscape Construction Crew Lead is responsible for leading a small crew of laborers in the execution of landscape construction projects. This role requires hands-on work alongside the team, while also ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
The ideal candidate is an experienced landscaper who can take direction from supervisors, communicate clearly with their crew, and keep projects moving forward on schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a crew of landscape laborers on construction job sites
- Plan daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and to quality standards
- Perform hands-on work including installation, grading, trenching, and material placement
- Read and interpret basic plans or follow project instructions from supervisors
- Train and support crew members, helping them develop skills and maintain productivity
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies
- Operate tools and equipment, including compact machinery (as needed)
- Coordinate material usage and maintain organized job sites
- Communicate progress, challenges, and needs with supervisors or project managers
- 2+ years of landscape construction or related experience preferred
- Prior leadership or crew lead experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of landscaping tools, materials, and installation practices
- Ability to lead by example with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Good communication skills and ability to take and give direction
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods, including bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Outdoor job sites across the Treasure Valley area
