Equipment Operator
The Equipment Operator safely operates Combilift forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to support the production of modular apartment units. This role focuses on the efficient movement, staging, loading, and unloading of building materials and structural components while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Operate Combilift forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
- Move, stage, load, and unload building materials and structural components to support modular apartment unit production.
- Perform equipment operation tasks such as machine operation, heavy equipment handling, and general labor related to material movement.
- Use forklifts, reach trucks, skid steers, loaders, front-end loaders, and similar equipment to transport materials throughout the facility.
- Assist with excavation-related tasks using equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, track hoes, and bulldozers when required for material handling.
- Support trenching and related site preparation activities as needed to facilitate material flow.
- Follow established safety procedures and protocols at all times while operating equipment and working in production areas.
- Inspect equipment before use and report any safety or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are delivered to the correct locations on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and safe equipment use.
- Adhere to quality standards when handling and moving structural components to prevent damage.
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Proficiency in equipment and machine operation, including heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, skid steers, loaders, front-end loaders, and bulldozers.
- Ability to operate reach trucks and other warehouse material handling equipment.
- Strong safety orientation with a commitment to following safety procedures and protocols.
- High attention to detail when moving, staging, loading, and unloading materials and structural components.
- Basic rigging knowledge to safely handle and move loads with cranes and other lifting equipment.
- Ability to perform general labor tasks associated with material handling and production support.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as a team player and contribute positively to a supportive, culture-focused environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in highly automated or robotics-assisted production facilities.
- Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments as needed.
- Ability to adapt to new equipment, processes, and technologies in a modern manufacturing setting.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in attendance and task completion.
- Willingness to learn and follow standardized operating procedures and quality guidelines.
