About the Role
The On‑Call Receptionist plays a key front‑line role in supporting the daily operations of the organization. Reporting to the Office Coordinator, this position provides reception services and administrative support across multiple locations, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and secure office environment. The role is ideal for a dependable, service‑oriented professional who is adaptable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable supporting staff, leadership, and community members as needed.

What You’ll Do (Highlights)

Serve as the first point of contact by welcoming visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries appropriately

Maintain reception coverage and security awareness, including visitor sign‑in processes

Provide administrative support to department heads and managers as directed

Keep offices, meeting rooms, and shared spaces clean, organized, and professional

Manage office supply inventories and ensure equipment and postage resources are available

Support internal communications, including maintaining staff contact lists and assisting with newsletters

Assist with health and safety measures and other operational needs

Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational effectiveness

What You Bring

Completion of Grade 12; post‑secondary education in administration or a related field is an asset

3–5 years of experience in an administrative or reception role preferred

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher

Excellent communication skills with a professional, welcoming manner

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently

High standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism

Ability to work effectively across departments, locations, and diverse cultural settings

Flexibility to work on an on‑call basis and additional hours when required
