Overview

A career as an Underwriter, Commercial Portfolio Management in the Commercial Banking team at National Bank is to act as a credit expert and trusted advisor. This job allows you to have a positive impact on the organization through your expertise in credit underwriting, risk management, and client relationship support. Please note that this is a temporary, 12 months, full-time position.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and effective credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing clients.
  • Meet the objectives of prudent risk management, client satisfaction, and portfolio growth.
  • Realize full-service client solutions by collaborating with internal teams and leveraging financial analysis.
  • Make sure you apply sound credit structuring and risk evaluation aligned with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Influence client outcomes by acting as the primary contact for daily operations and inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client experience and support business development.

Qualifications
  • Min. 2+ years of underwriting experience in commercial lending.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, or accounting (or equivalent experience).
  • Have 3+ years of experience in business banking, commercial lending, or financial services.
  • Knowledge of credit underwriting, financial analysis, and risk management.
  • Experience in client relationship management and commercial portfolio support.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills with a desire for continuous learning.
  • Available to travel locally to support client engagement and market development.
