* The Position
* Tectonica Management Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company and its projects, including payroll. We are seeking a candidate that is committed to a high level of integrity, organization, and attention to detail. This position will lead our Administrative team and work closely with the Board of Directors.

* Position Responsibilities
** Full cycle accounting duties, including transaction processing, client invoicing and year end working paper file preparation for the company?s public accountant.
* Quality control for all financial inputs to the Construction Management custom software program.
* Payroll preparation from timesheet review to semi monthly processing and T4 preparation.
* Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to management.
* Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
* Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support for project planning and execution.
* Lead and mentor administration staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and professional development within the department.
* Qualifications
* * CPA designation
* Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in public accounting or construction industry role
* Proficiency in Sage 50 or similar platform; advanced Excel and Outlook skills required.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
* Proven leadership and team-building skills,
* Ability to quickly learn new software programs
* Strong work ethic and integrity
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively

* Transition*Our current controller/accountant is phasing out of her role at Tectonica as a step towards her retirement. Understanding the importance of our new Controller/Accountant in Tectonica? s future, she has offered to stay on to assist in the transition period while it is helpful.
