Role Description
The Branch Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Ladysmith, BC, responsible for overseeing daily branch operations and ensuring an excellent customer experience. This role includes leading and mentoring a branch team, organizing schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring safe, efficient workflows in the yard, office, and counter. The Branch Manager will manage inventory and fleet utilization, coordinate deliveries and pickups, and ensure equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and documented.
Responsibilities also include handling customer inquiries and escalations, preparing quotes and rental agreements, managing cash and invoicing, and maintaining accurate records. The Branch Manager will monitor branch performance, support local sales efforts, uphold health and safety standards, and report regularly to senior management on operational, financial, and staffing matters.
- Proven experience in branch, store, or operations management, ideally in equipment rental, construction supply, or a related service environment.
- Strong leadership abilities, including team supervision, coaching, performance management, and fostering a respectful, inclusive workplace.
- Solid customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to resolve issues professionally and maintain long-term client satisfaction.
- Operational and organizational skills, including scheduling, inventory oversight, fleet coordination, and attention to detail in documentation.
- Comfort with basic financial tasks such as budgeting, cash handling, invoicing, and reviewing branch performance metrics.
- Ability to work safely in a hands-on environment, including adherence to health and safety procedures and promotion of a safety-first culture.
- Proficiency with common office and rental management software, email, and spreadsheets; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers, team members, and leadership.
- High level of reliability, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable for company insurance; ability to support occasional physical tasks related to branch operations.
