Together Against Poverty Society is hiring a part-time, permanent position for an Office/Intake Coordinator in our Nanaimo office. The Final date to receive applications is Wednesday, July 29, 2026
. Located in Nanaimo on the territory of the Snuneymuxw Nation, TAPS is one of the largest anti-poverty organizations on Vancouver Island. TAPS specializes in face-to-face legal advocacy services. Through our work, we seek to have a positive impact on people's lives in ways that honour and promote human rights, justice, and a healthy, sustainable community.

Job Description (Nature of the Position)There are no essential qualifications applicants must have for this position, but the successful applicant should have the following:
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Effective written and oral skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, including confidence in trauma-informed strategies and cultural competence.
- General computer competency.
This position is part-time (approximately 3 days/week or 21 hours/week), with all shifts located in-person in our Nanaimo office. This position is designed to be flexible in when hours are set, either around specific days, or with shortened hours over 4 to 5 days. For example, the hours of this position may be structured around the pick-up and drop-off times of local schools.
TAPS staff are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 374, and this position is covered by the TAPS Collective Agreement.
The current wage rate for this position is $34.75/hr.
Start Date and Duration of PositionThe start date for the position is as soon as possible. This position is permanent and has no determined end date.
