Energetic Cook for VIU Cafeteria Team

Vancouver Island University seeks an energetic Cook to join our Cafeteria team! Utilize your culinary expertise to prepare quality meals while ensuring safe and efficient kitchen operations.

This Cook position at VIU requires dedication and creativity, with at least three years of cooking experience and a Culinary Arts Certificate. You will engage with customers, uphold food standards, and work collaboratively with kitchen staff. A friendly disposition and strong communication will enhance your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cook various dishes including appetizers, entrees, and desserts

• Interact with patrons while serving meals promptly

• Provide training to new kitchen personnel

• Collaborate and suggest new menu ideas

• Keep workstations sanitized and organized

Requirements:

• Culinary Arts Certificate plus 3 years of experience

• Food Safe certification required

• Proven ability with standard kitchen equipment

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

• Capable of lifting 30 KG and staying positive in a busy environment
