Position: VIU Food Service Worker Role
Become a key player at Vancouver Island University as a Food Service Worker, focusing on customer engagement and food service efficiency. Your expertise will enhance the dining experience for students and staff alike.

This role involves front-line customer service, cash handling, and maintaining clean and organized food service areas. You’ll thrive in a high-volume cafeteria while engaging with customers and facilitating their requests effectively. Excellent communication and teamwork will be vital as you assist in various food service operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality service and support in the cafeteria

• Process transactions with precision using the POS system

• Maintain sanitation standards of dining and service areas

• Portion food and restock service stations as needed

• Help with catering events setup and cleanup

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least one year of food service experience

• Knowledge of computerized point-of-sale systems

• Certifications in Food Safe Level I and Serving It Right

• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
