Position: Full-Time Mechanic at Regional District
Join the Regional District of Nanaimo as a full-time Mechanic in the Transportation Services division. Diagnose and repair public transit and fleet vehicles while ensuring smooth operations.

This permanent role offers a chance to contribute to the Corporate and Transportation Services Department. You are required to possess a Red Seal Trade Qualification and at least three years of relevant experience. Additionally, you will need to obtain your Authorized Inspector Certificate within your first three months to effectively support vehicle maintenance and ensure safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose issues in public transit and fleet vehicles

• Execute repairs and modifications to enhance functionality

• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services

• Collaborate with team members to optimize operations

• Conduct safety inspections in compliance with regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent certification

• Red Seal Trade Qualification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic

• Minimum three years of relevant job experience

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement

• Authorized Inspector Certificate (or ability to obtain)
