We are looking for lead hands on Vancouver Island!
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Lead Hand you will be responsible for:
Installing electrical equipment based on blueprints and in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code specifications
Observing functions of installed equipment to detect hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
Overseeing and mentoring apprentices and Journey persons in the field Drawing review and updates Safety Documentation creation and management (hazard assessments, toolbox talks, incident investigations, near miss reporting, injury management in partnership with CSO)
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Journeyperson Electrician ticket required (Red Seal)
Experience working on high rise and/or commercial new construction projects
Good knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and local requirements
Excellent communication, computer skills, and time management skills
Field Safety Representative ticket is an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Typical 5-day work week; overtime may be required to meet construction deadlines
