Journeyman Mechanic at Mainroad

Take your mechanical skills to the next level as a Trade Journeyman Mechanic with Mainroad Mid-Island Contracting in Nanaimo, BC. Focus on maintaining and repairing a fleet of company vehicles and equipment.

In this unionized role, you will join Mainroad’s team based out of the Duke Point yard. We're looking for accomplished mechanics with a B.C. Certificate of Qualification and at least three years of relevant experience. Your expertise will help maintain safety and operational excellence while completing both shop and field repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair fleet vehicles and equipment

• Perform repairs in the shop and at various work locations

• Record and submit all maintenance documentation accurately

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment

• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations

Requirements:

• B.C. Certificate of Qualification in a mechanical trade

• Valid class 5 driver’s license; class 3 preferred

• Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspection Certification is an asset

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanic

• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
