Human Services Professional (HSP) position providing services to students across the Complex Area Nanakuli‑Waianae as assigned by the Leeward District Office. The role focuses on improving the quality of life for students through remediation, prevention, and coordination of service delivery.

Salary Range

Human Services Professional IV, SR‑22: $5,369.00 - $6,535.00 per month.

Responsibilities
  • Improve overall quality of life for students through remediation and prevention.
  • Establish workplace relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Service students' IEPs, including parent education and training.
  • Lead and direct paraprofessionals; coordinate case work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide training in autism‑specific techniques such as applied behavior analysis.
  • Consult and collaborate with families and school teams.
  • Basic Education Requirement

    Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a bachelor’s degree that includes a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology, or other behavioral sciences. Education must demonstrate ability to write clear reports, interpret complex written material, and solve complex problems logically.

    Experience Requirements
    • Professional work experience as a Human Services Professional IV for at least 2½ years (including supervisory and administrative experience).
    Substitutions Allowed
  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social welfare, sociology, or other behavioral science with at least three credit hours in human behavior and related topics (plus practicum or internship).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution (with fieldwork).
  • Master’s degree in Social Work with coursework focused on direct services (plus practicum).
  • Quality of Experience

    Possession of the required number of experience years alone does not prove qualification. The overall experience must demonstrate scope and level of responsibility sufficient to perform the duties of the position.

    Advertised salary includes full‑time employment and applicable differentials.
