FT Temporary Instructor of English as a Second Language (ESL) Spring 2026 Semester

Position Classification:
Full-Time Nine (9) Month Faculty

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Academic Rank:
Instructor

* Education - Bachelors Degree in Education or related field (i.e. English, Applied Linguistics) with ESL Certification required. Masters Degree in Education or related field with ESL Certification preferred.

* Experience - Minimum 3 years teaching experience required preferably at the post-secondary level.

* Skills - Demonstrated ability to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) students with different proficiency levels ranging from low intermediate to advanced ESL; demonstrated curriculum development ability; demonstrated ability to assess and provide constructive feedback to students; demonstrated communication skills both oral and written; demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds; ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Position Responsibilities:

Teaching assigned ESL courses in reading, writing, grammar, speaking, and listening; responsible for planning instruction, evaluating student learning, and providing constructive feedback to students; supporting students in increasing English language proficiency for a successful academic experience; responsible for submitting grades and attendance in a timely manner; responsible for attending and actively participating in program meetings on the main campus and participating on college committees;

perform such other reasonable duties as assigned.

Entry Salary: $42,155/annual

Standard Work Week: 35 hours
