The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Nantucket Cottage Hospital provides quality nursing care to patients of all ages. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

• Pay: $37.69 - $89.59/Hourly
• Location: Nantucket, MA
• Facility: Nantucket Cottage Hospital
• Schedule: Full-Time, Rotating shifts

• Collect and document all data pertinent to each patient’s actual and potential needs within twenty-four (24) hours of admission.
• Document and report significant findings of ongoing patient assessment.
• Formulate the patient plan of care based on age-specific needs and acceptable standards of practice.
• Communicate the patient plan of care through shift reports and other established procedures.
• Formulate discharge plan within twenty-four (24) hours of admission.
• Implement and document teaching plan in the patient record.
• Organize own patient care and demonstrate ability to set priorities.
• Administer safely and document medications according to established procedures.
• Evaluate nursing interventions to changing patient situations as demonstrated by patient outcome.
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational and patient information in accordance with Hospital policy.

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school required;
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: Three (3) years of prior, related experience preferred.

Licenses &

Certifications:

Current, valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required. BLS/CPR certification required within one week of hire. ACLS and PALS certification required prior to completion of orientation or within 6 months of hire. Professional certification in applicable nursing field(s) preferred.
