The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced full-time Sous Chef to join our opening leadership team in Nantucket.
This role is ideal for a focused, committed culinary professional who takes initiative, leads by example, and thrives in a collaborative kitchen environment. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the kitchen culture, support menu execution, and deliver consistently high-quality food for our guests.

As Sous Chef, you will support daily kitchen operations and lead the team alongside ownership and senior leadership.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting menu execution and food quality standards
- Leading and motivating a team of approximately 5–10 employees
- Ordering, receiving, and managing inventory
- Training and educating staff on systems, standards, and recipes
- Supporting food safety and sanitation compliance
- Following written recipes and instructions consistently
- Assisting with menu development and execution
- Working efficiently in a standing position during service
- Maintaining composure and leadership presence during busy service
- 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience in an upscale casual restaurant
- Experience managing staff training, scheduling, and motivation
- Strong understanding of inventory, ordering, and receiving
- Food safety knowledge (certification preferred)
- Ability to execute written recipes and systems consistently
- Experience contributing to menu creation a plus
- Excellent communicator (able to give and receive feedback)
- Respectful of colleagues and guests
