The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, driving sales performance, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a hands-on approach to retail operations, team development, and merchandising.
Key Responsibilities Store Operations- Open and close the store following company procedures
- Ensure store security, cash handling accuracy, and operational compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor
- Deliver outstanding customer service and foster a welcoming store environment
- Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally
- Lead by example in providing personalized service and building customer relationships
- Supervise and support sales associates during shifts
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure operational efficiency
- Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback
- Assist in creating schedules to meet business needs
- Train new and existing sales associates on customer service standards, store policies, and product knowledge
- Coach team members to achieve individual and store sales goals
- Support ongoing development to build a high-performing sales team
- Assist in achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Motivate the team to drive sales and meet KPIs
- Monitor sales trends and suggest strategies to improve performance
- Oversee online order fulfillment processes
- Pick, pack, and prepare online orders accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate and ship outgoing orders in a timely manner
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of shipments
- Receive and process incoming shipments
- Verify inventory accuracy and report discrepancies
- Assist with stock replenishment and organization of backroom inventory
- Assist with visual merchandising execution
- Support the creation and maintenance of window displays
- Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with brand standards
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all products and collections
- Educate team members and customers on product features and benefits
- Stay informed about new arrivals, promotions, and seasonal trends
- Previous retail supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills
