The Assistant Store Manager supports the store manager in executing store strategy to achieve performance goals, leading others by teaching and coaching staff to cultivate a high performing team and deliver a best‑in‑class experience to customers.

• Work with the store manager to ensure the store meets financial targets and improves measurable statistics.
• Monitor team sales targets and other metrics; provide feedback and analysis to the store manager.
• Manage store staff to maximize sales, traffic flow, floor coverage, and customer engagement; adjust schedules as needed.
• Lead by example, model company core values, and manage conflict.
• Supervise the selling environment and provide consistent coaching on sales, product and staff training.
• Partner with the store manager to execute effective store communications; keep staff involved and updated.
• Maintain the Southern Tide aesthetic across all touchpoints including associate presentation, dress, visual standards, maintenance, and merchandising.
• Assist in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of store staff.
• Train, guide and coach staff on selling and service skills, driving transformational customer experiences and exceeding sales targets.
• Ensure visual merchandising and maintenance standards are met at all times.
• Adhere to all operational policies and procedures.
• Maintain accuracy of information entered in POS and other technology.
• Make bank deposits; open and close store and registers.
• Oversee merchandise receipts, transfers, and visual merchandising of the sales floor.
• Execute and train in all cash handling and reporting functions.
• Enforce people policies and ensure accurate, timely processing of employee paperwork (payroll, attendance, changes, discipline).
• Protect company assets by adhering to loss prevention and operational policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in Business or Merchandising preferred.
• 4+ years retail experience, including at least two years in supervisory/management roles.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word; basic retail math skills.
• Experience with POS systems and basic retail math.
• Exposure to merchandising and retail visual concepts.
• Analytical thinker comfortable with problem solving and multitasking.
• Ability to motivate and develop a team.

Pay Range: $22–$30 hourly, determined by experience, geography, and skill set.
