ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Department of Public Works seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Equipment Operator. Senior Equipment Operator is responsible for the performance of a wide range of skilled manual work including reporting equipment repairs, operation of heavy equipment and processing of paperwork to ensure proper recordkeeping for work orders. The employee is required to perform all similar or related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and up to three (3) years of experience in grounds and roadway maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Class D Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator’s license at time of hire. Hoisting License 2A and CDL Class B with tanker endorsement required within two (2) years of date of hire.

Employment type and benefits: Full Time;

Starting Hourly Rate: $34.03 (new hires) – $42.33 (employees with 20 years of service with the Town of Nantucket)
