Salary Range: $100,000–$125,000 annually

North Bay Recruiter is partnering with a Napa Valley organization to hire an Accounting Manager for its Finance & Accounting team. This is a hands‑on accounting position with responsibility for core accounting functions as well as providing guidance and support to accounting staff.

Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will oversee the general ledger, month‑end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and day‑to‑day accounting operations. The position requires a solid technical accounting foundation, attention to accuracy and deadlines, and the ability to research and resolve accounting issues.

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, allocations, and supporting schedules.

• Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, reconciliations, and close documentation.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for CFO review.

• Review account activity and research significant variances, discrepancies, and reconciling items.

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, receivables, prepaids, liabilities, fixed assets, inventory, and other accounts.

• Support inventory accounting, including inventory entries, schedules, and reconciliations.

• Oversee AP, AR, vendor payments, customer receivables, expense coding, approvals, and related general ledger activity.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, tax work, audits, and other financial reporting needs.

• Maintain and support accounting processes, procedures, internal controls, and documentation.

• Identify opportunities to improve close processes, workflows, reconciliations, and accounting system functionality.

• Provide day‑to‑day guidance and technical support to accounting staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience performing responsibilities comparable to an Accounting Manager or Senior Staff Accountant.

• Experience with general ledger accounting, month‑end close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, and account analysis.

• Experience supervising, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to accounting staff.

• Proficiency with Excel and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.

• Ability to organize and prioritize accounting responsibilities, analyze financial information, communicate effectively, and research and resolve accounting issues.

• Experience in wine, manufacturing, consumer products, or another inventory‑based environment is preferred but not required.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is helpful but not required.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000–$125,000 annually
. Actual compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors.
