DESCRIPTION
Please Note:
Napa Valley College accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately, if a need arises without having to wait for a period of time to advertise. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted by respective department supervisors, deans and/or division chairs.

Napa Valley College is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly Counseling instructors. The starting salary range is $74.84-$80.94/classroom hour, with future steps up to $94.69/classroom hour. Placement is based on verified previous college teaching or counseling experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
* Earned Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling;
OR
* Earned Master's degree in counseling, guidance counseling, student personnel, clinical or counseling psychology, education counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling; OR
Bachelor's degree in marriage and family therapy or in marriage, family and child counseling and possession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT);
AND
Either 15 or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work related to people with disabilities; OR
Completion of six semester units, or the equivalent of a graduate-level counseling practicum or counseling field-work courses in a post-secondary Disabled Students Programs and Services program or in a program dealing with people with disabilities;
OR
Two years of full-time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following:
* Counseling students with disabilities; OR
* Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities are for persons with disabilities, or the equivalent.

* Foreign Transcripts:
Napa Valley College requires that individuals who have completed college or university course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts, degrees and other relevant documents. A foreign transcript evaluation is required any time foreign course work is used to meet minimum qualifications and/or salary placement, even if the foreign transcript has previously been accepted by a different college or university in the United States.
