About the PositionThe Defensible Space Inspector coordinates and conducts defensible space inspections, assists in presenting educational programs to the public, and maintains records and data on defensible space inspections. The role also assists the Fire Marshal in supporting fire prevention activities and related work.
This is a seasonal, part‑time position with limited benefits and is intended to fill extra help vacancies assisting Napa County Fire.
Position Requirements Experience and EducationAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Typical qualifications include:
- Three (3) months of experience in forestry, fire prevention, fire suppression and control, natural resource management, or a closely related field.
- Equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
- Possession of a valid CA Driver's License is desirable.
* Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County.
