Position: IT Support Specialist I - Entry-Level Tech & Security

Redwood Credit Union is seeking an IT Specialist I, an entry‑level technical position that ensures the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of computing systems within the organization. The role provides first‑tier support of desktop applications and equipment, telephones, and end‑user rights management, delivering superior customer service that meets RCU service standards and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow department operations run books for daily operational functions and the desktop environment.
  • Maintain a service log of information systems error logs and maintenance calls.
  • Review and maintain systems focused on desktop performance and security, such as Anti‑Virus, patching, and inventory.
  • Document all calls and requests in the IT support ticketing system.
  • Operate daily and monthly operation checklists to maintain security and task completion through auditing.
  • Complete add, move and user change requests in the network and core systems.
  • Provide help‑desk phone support to team members of the Redwood Group.
  • Distribute reports to management.
  • Execute all daily operational checklists in a timely manner to ensure duties are performed with the highest accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Notify management of work‑affecting incidents in a timely manner.
  • Document all new processes and any undocumented processes in the department Wiki.
Technical Support
  • Provide end‑user support and troubleshoot computer and printer problems.
  • Respond to incidents and support requests per incident‑management procedures.
  • Assist end users with software/hardware problems and inquiries.
  • Provide exceptional service to members, volunteers, internal team members, and service providers.
  • Keep inventory of supplies and licensing; document and request new purchases from management.
  • Contact vendors to schedule repair and maintenance work on system hardware and order additional hardware, parts, and supplies.
  • Support tablet and mobile devices via RCU’s mobile device management solution.
  • Uphold established department service standards.
User Creation & Security
  • Create, delete, and modify all existing and new users daily for Symitar and Windows.
  • Maintain a log of user IDs including deletions, additions, and changes.
  • Setup and maintain user security for the Redwood Group.
  • Support computer patch distribution and software updates.
Other Functions
  • Organize data room and surrounding areas to ensure OSHA standards.
  • Maintain technical proficiencies to support current and planned hardware and software computing needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Intermediate skill in operating a PC with intranet, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and information systems software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer‑related problems.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with outside vendors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday, including rotating Saturday assignments.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Compensation

Base starting rate: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
