Position Multi-Purpose Clerk - Bakery/Deli – 1312 Trancas St., Napa, CA 94558. The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, or Janitorial. The Clerk promotes sales, answers customer questions, fulfills product requests, and processes special orders. Practices safe food handling, maintains a clean and safe work area, and inspects, logs, stocks, rotates, and merchandises products to maintain freshness and department appeal.

• The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to any of the following departments:
  Center Store/Front End, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, Janitorial, Pharmacy.
• Center Store/Front End: operate check stand, memorize PLU codes, stock shelves, and perform POS and inventory activities.
• Produce: inspect, log, trim, wash, wrap produce; stock, rotate, and merchandise; maintain floral areas; keep department clean.
• Meat/Seafood: inspect, log, weigh, wrap/label, stock, rotate, merchandise; provide customer service at the counter; may take special orders; operate equipment such as slicers and wrappers; keep areas clean.
• Bakery/Deli: inspect, log, weigh, package, label products; stock, rotate, merchandise; take special orders; operate ovens, proofers, slicers, mixers; keep area clean.
• Janitorial: clean store areas; sweep/mop; clean restrooms, break rooms, shelving, and equipment; operate janitorial equipment as needed.
• Pharmacy: operate the pharmacy register, process prescriptions with the pharmacist, maintain department cleanliness and confidentiality.

• Sweep and mop floors and areas; maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
• May operate forklift if authorized and certified.
• May operate baler if authorized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self-motivation; proactive, initiative, enthusiastic, and flexible on the job.

High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or additional job experience.

Six months of related experience.

Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.

Requires standing and other physical movements; ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
