Tasting Room Associate, Part Time - Etude

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Tasting Room Associate at Etude Wines, a dedicated winery specializing in Estate grown Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as Pinot Noir from Santa Rita, Santa Maria, Sonoma Coast, Yamhill-Carlton (OR) and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley. The Tasting Room Associate will serve as the main point of contact for guests, promote the winery as a luxury destination, host wine tastings, and assist in retail operations.

Availability on weekends (Friday through Sunday) is required, with additional work on some holidays and evenings.

• Set up and host wine tastings and tours for guests
• Act as a backup for other Hospitality Specialists conducting tastings and tours
• Operate cash registers
• Promote wine clubs
• Pack wine for retail orders
• Assist in events, private dinners, and various site activities
• Assist Merchandise Department with restocking, inventory, and floor upkeep
• Provide world‑class customer service to site visitors
• Follow site policies and procedures
• Complete projects and other duties as directed by the Retail Sales Manager

• Must be 21 years of age
• Exemplary customer service skills
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to relay knowledge of wines and wine production
• Dynamic communication skills and positive attitude
• Clean professional appearance and excellent interpersonal interactions
• Ability to start a project and carry it through to successful implementation
• Knowledge of food and wine, the wine industry, and Sonoma, Napa, and Bay Area restaurants
• Availability on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), some holidays, and evenings
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. (a case of wine)
• Two years of wine industry or tasting room experience highly desirable

• Base pay:
  Hourly rate ranges from $22 to $24 per hour, based on experience, skills, role scope, location, and business needs.
• Incentive pay:
  Eligible to participate in the Direct‑to‑Consumer Sales Incentive Plan (DSIP), offering variable compensation based on site performance. Incentive pay is not guaranteed.
• Estimated on‑target earnings: $24.33 to $26.97 per hour, based on base pay plus target DSIP at target performance (where applicable). Actual earnings vary based on site performance, hours worked, and role classification.
• Tips:
  Paid by customers and vary by location, shift, and customer volume. Tips are not guaranteed. Historically, tips have added approximately 16% to 40% above base pay for some employees.
