Manager, Private Sales and Gifting

This is a dual-focused, entrepreneurial sales and business-development role within HALL Family Wines' Direct-to-Consumer organization. The position combines two distinct but complementary businesses the successful candidate will build and run: (1) a corporate gifting and wedding sales program that turns relationships — both inside and outside the HALL Group network — into wine purchases for gifting and celebration occasions, and (2) a national remote tasting program that brings the HALL Family Wines tasting-room experience directly into people's homes to sell wine, build brand awareness, and acquire new wine club members.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is equally comfortable prospecting and closing sales as they are designing a scalable program from the ground up, and who will spend meaningful time traveling to represent HALL, WALT, BACA Wines, and Michel Foch Champagnes.

This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Direct-to-Consumer Sales. It is based in Napa with regular multi-day travel required.

Position Overview The person in this role wears two hats. In the first, they own corporate gifting and wedding sales for HALL Family Wines: identifying and cultivating customers — through existing HALL and Hall Group relationships as well as entirely new companies — who want to purchase wine as gifts for their clients, employees, or friends, and separately, soliciting large-volume wine purchases (with a particular focus on Champagne) for weddings/celebrations of all types.

In the second, they build and lead a new remote tasting business: a traveling, in-home (and in some cases in-venue) tasting program modeled on best practices, designed to sell wine, deepen brand relationships, and convert guests into wine club members.

Corporate Gifting & Wedding Sales Corporate Gifting Identify and develop new corporate gifting customers by mining existing relationships across HALL Wines and the broader Hall Group, as well as proactively prospecting companies with no prior connection to HALL.Serve as the primary point of contact for every corporate gift purchase, managing the relationship directly from first outreach through the sale.

Facilitate order fulfillment for corporate gift orders, coordinating with operations, fulfillment, and shipping teams to ensure accurate, on-time, and well-presented delivery, including personalization and special packaging where applicable.

Own outbound messaging and go-to-market materials for the corporate gifting program, including sales collateral, email campaigns, and other marketing materials, partnering with the marketing team as needed.

Build and maintain a pipeline of corporate gifting prospects and accounts in the CRM (Salesforce), and report regularly on program performance against revenue goals.

Wedding Sales Proactively identify and solicit large-volume wine purchases for weddings of all types across the HALL Family Wines portfolio (HALL, WALT, BACA, and Michel Foch Champagne), with particular attention to Champagne opportunities.

Cultivate wedding-related business through wine club members who are planning weddings, as well as wedding planners, venues, and other wedding-industry affiliations, building a referral network over time.

Manage the wedding sales process end-to-end, from initial inquiry and tasting through quoting, order placement, and fulfillment.

Work with the marketing team to build out wedding and celebration marketing materials including but not limited to paper collateral, emails, and website content.

Remote Tasting Experience Program Design, launch, and grow a national program that brings the HALL/WALT tasting-room experience into people's homes and other private venues, following best-practice models used successfully by others in the industry.

Program design & guest experience

Recruit hosts — starting with the best wine club member “champions” — and build a program that requires a minimum purchase to attend, with hosts typically having a minimum of 12–16 guests.

Establish a clear, consistent tasting format and presentation, including prescreening of guests and collecting payment for the wines being poured in advance of the event.
