Position Summary

CSG is seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail oriented Hotel Engineer to join our team in the most prestigious boutique hotel in Napa Valley. CSG is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through personalized service and impeccably maintained facilities. As a Hotel Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring all building systems, guest rooms, and public areas are safe, functional, and maintained to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who takes pride in preventative maintenance, responds promptly to guest and operational needs, and works collaboratively to preserve the comfort, appearance, and overall quality of the hotel.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest room maintenance requests while minimizing disruption to the guest experience.
  • Troubleshoot and repair guest room fixtures, lighting, appliances, door hardware, locks, televisions, and other hotel equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, and building systems to identify maintenance needs.
  • Assist in maintaining pools, spas, and related equipment, including water testing and chemical treatment when applicable.
  • Complete repairs while preserving the appearance and integrity of hotel finishes, furnishings, and fixtures.
  • Maintain the proper operation of life safety systems, fire equipment, emergency lighting, and security systems.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, replacement parts, and equipment.
  • Document completed work orders, preventative maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Office teams to ensure guest rooms are maintained and available for occupancy.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations with professionalism, urgency, and sound judgment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe engineering work spaces, storage rooms, and equipment.
  • Follow all hotel policies, OSHA regulations, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year of hotel maintenance, building maintenance, facilities engineering, or related experience required; boutique hotel or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow maintenance manuals, safety procedures, work orders, and technical instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, guest‑focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or trade certifications are a plus.
  • Required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Must adhere strictly to all hotel policies regarding health, safety, and company practices.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, kneel, crawl, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and move tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts as required by business needs.
