SALARY RANGE: $16.90 per hour + commission and service charge. The Person al Trainer is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and personalized fitness training sessions for members and resort guests. This role conducts fitness assessments, develops customized training programs, supports overall wellness goals, and delivers a high-touch, luxury service experience aligned with resort standards. The Person al Trainer actively contributes to fitness programming, member engagement, and revenue generation through training services and related offerings.

Functions
  • Must adhere to the company’s service culture and guest experience standards to create “guests for life.”
  • Must actively participate in the team member referral program and serve as a Talent Ambassador.
  • Must participate in all resort-required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
  • Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments including health history, movement screening, and baseline measurements as appropriate.
  • Design and implement individualized training programs based on client goals, fitness level, and medical considerations.
  • Deliver one‑on‑one and small group personal training sessions using proper instruction, progression, and modification.
  • Ensure client safety through proper exercise technique, spotting, equipment use, and session structure.
  • Track client progress and maintain accurate session notes and program updates.
  • Motivate and coach clients with a professional, supportive, and results‑driven approach.
  • Support member retention and engagement through consistent follow‑up and relationship building.
  • Promote personal training, fitness classes, and wellness programs to members and guests.
  • Collaborate with spa, fitness, and membership teams to support integrated wellness offerings and retreats.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness equipment and training areas before and after sessions.
  • Follow all sanitation and hygiene standards; no cigarette smoke odor permitted on hands, clothes, or breath during shift.
  • Begin and end all sessions on time; ensure proper warm‑up, training, and cool‑down are included.
  • Keep management informed of client feedback, equipment needs, and facility issues.
  • Abide by all resort policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
  • Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification required (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent).
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of personal training or related fitness coaching experience preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and fitness levels preferred.
  • Specialty certifications (corrective exercise, senior fitness, sports performance, Pilates, etc.) are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sales and client retention mindset preferred.
  • Basic computer and scheduling software skills preferred.
Working Conditions and Schedule
  • Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays.
  • Early morning and evening availability typically required.
  • Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to demonstrate exercises and proper form repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and lift as needed.
  • May be required to work outdoors in varying temperatures, including temperatures above 100°F.
  • Expect daily physical exertion.
