About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented Apparel Technical Designer – Women's Athleisure & Outerwear to join our Technical Design team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between creative design and production execution. The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible, organized, and thrives in a high-volume environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines. This person must have a positive, can-do attitude and be comfortable working cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, QA, and overseas vendors to ensure all products meet the brand's standards for fit, construction, quality, and timeline.

Strong technical knowledge across knits, fleece, active wear, loungewear, and sleep categories is essential, with a sharp eye for fit, garment construction, and overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a deep understanding of athleisure fit, fabric, and garment construction, aligning technical execution to the Comfrt aesthetic, customer expectations, and premium quality standards.
  • Conduct seasonal competitive fit benchmarking to understand evolving fit trends, silhouette shifts, and best-in-class standards across the market.
  • Partner closely with Design and Product teams to ensure fit evolves with the brand, remains relevant to the customer, and delivers a premium product experience.
  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs including technical flat sketches, construction details, BOMs, measurement specs, POM diagrams, grading specs, and trim and artwork placement details.
  • Ensure all tech packs are accurate, production-ready, and updated throughout all development stages.
  • Own the fit preparation and execution process including sourcing fit models, setting fit schedules, preparing fit samples and fit lists, measuring garments, and leading fit sessions.
  • Analyze fit issues and recommend pattern corrections and construction improvements.
  • Submit clear, concise, and actionable fit comments to overseas and domestic vendors and ensure all comments are turned quickly to support development calendar deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain standardized fit processes, protocols, and standards across all Women's categories to ensure consistency, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Maintain strong understanding of fabric behavior, shrinkage, stretch and recovery, wash impact, and garment balance and fit consistency.
  • Troubleshoot construction and production challenges with factories and cross-functional teams.
  • Review and approve Proto, Fit, PP, TOP, and bulk production samples.
  • Coordinate wear testing process including requesting and prepping samples, shipping wear test packages, and compiling and analyzing feedback.
  • Partner closely with QA teams to improve product consistency, define tolerances, and reduce quality issues.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for overseas and domestic vendors, building strong relationships that improve communication, speed, and sample execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, Production, QA, and Fabric teams.
  • Maintain design intent while balancing manufacturability, quality, cost, and speed to market.
  • Update WIP reports and maintain organization across all development stages.
  • Track and follow up on samples, approvals, and vendor deadlines.
  • Support the Technical Design Manager and Product Development team with shifting priorities and urgent business needs.
  • Help improve technical design processes, organization, and workflow efficiencies.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Technical Design, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of Technical Design experience in apparel.
  • Experience in active wear, fleece, knits, lounge, and sleepwear categories preferred.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and pattern corrections.
