Overview

WHO WE ARE:

Zinnia is the leading technology platform for accelerating life and annuities growth. With innovative enterprise solutions and data insights, Zinnia simplifies the experience of buying, selling, and administering insurance products. All of which enables more people to protect their financial futures. Our success is driven by a commitment to three core values: be bold, team up, deliver value – and that we do.

Zinnia has over $180 billion in assets under administration, serves 100+ carrier clients, 2500 distributors and partners, and over 2 million policyholders.

WHO YOU ARE:
At Zinnia, we deliver persona-driven experiences across a complex ecosystem of carriers, distributors, agents, policyholders, and operational teams. As a UX Researcher, you are a hands-on practitioner who thrives in complexity and brings clarity through insight. Reporting to the Lead UX Researcher, you are embedded within product teams and work across the full product lifecycle—from early discovery through post-launch evaluation.

You help teams understand user needs, validate solutions, and measure the success of what we build. You are:

A mixed-methods practitioner who is comfortable using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A data-informed thinker who can analyze trends, interpret metrics, and connect insights to outcomes. A clear communicator who translates research findings into actionable recommendations. Comfortable taking initiative and owning research for the teams you support. A collaborative teammate who contributes to a growing research practice and supports shared learning.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support End-to-End Research Across the Product Lifecycle. Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute research from discovery through post-launch. Advocate for user-centered thinking. Conduct foundational research to uncover user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Design and run evaluative research to test concepts, prototypes, and live features. Help define success metrics for features and experiences in partnership with Product and Data teams.

Measure post-launch success through user feedback, behavioral data, and performance metrics. Identify opportunities for iteration and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to Research Operations and Team Growth. Document and share research findings to make insights accessible and reusable. Contribute to research repositories, templates, and best practices. Support a culture of curiosity, learning, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in UX Research or a related field (e.g., UX Design, Product Management, Data & Analytics). Examples of your UX research work demonstrating your approach and thinking.
  • Experience conducting end-to-end UX research across generative and evaluative phases. Strong foundation in qualitative research methods, with exposure to quantitative approaches and analytics. Ability to interpret data and metrics to inform product decisions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional product teams in a SaaS or digital product environment. Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present insights clearly and effectively. Comfort working in complex or regulated environments (e.g., financial services, insurance) preferred.
