Description

We're hiring a Senior Database Administrator to support and optimize enterprise data environments. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can drive performance, reliability, and scalability across SQL Server, Postgre

SQL, and AWS platforms while contributing to modernization and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage and optimize SQL Server, Postgre

SQL, and related database environments

+ Ensure high availability, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness

+ Troubleshoot and improve performance through query tuning, indexing, and workload analysis

+ Design and maintain database objects including schemas, stored procedures, and data models

+ Translate business requirements into scalable database solutions in partnership with stakeholders

+ Support cloud and on-prem database migrations and modernization efforts

+ Oversee backup, recovery, and data protection strategies

+ Implement monitoring and improve visibility into database performance and health

+ Automate routine tasks using scripting tools and improve operational efficiency

Requirements

+ 10+ years of experience managing and administering databases within large-scale, enterprise-level environments.

+ Deep expertise in relational database systems, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Postgre

SQL; exposure to MySQL is a plus.

+ Hands-on experience working with AWS database platforms and infrastructure, including RDS, Aurora, Redshift, and databases hosted on EC2 instances.

+ Strong capabilities in performance optimization, including query tuning, execution plan analysis, and effective indexing strategies.

+ Solid background in database development, such as designing schemas, building stored procedures, and implementing data-driven business logic.

+ Experience leading or contributing to database migration and modernization initiatives across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

+ Skilled in scripting and automation using tools like Python, Power Shell, or Bash to streamline database operations.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a track record of working independently and owning complex database projects end-to-end.
