Process Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Process Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain our advanced reactors and related process equipment. This role is pivotal in meeting production and quality requirements and involves collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and technical teams. The ideal candidate will support production processes, material handling, and product development activities while ensuring a smooth workflow through coordination with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain reactors and related process equipment to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and technical teams.
  • Provide hands-on support for production processes, materials, equipment, and product development activities.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new technicians on equipment, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely material movement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and process performance.
  • Complete additional technical tasks and projects as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Manufacturing, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical manufacturing, laboratory, semiconductor, optics, or equipment-based environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, technical documentation, and safety procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior technicians when needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle small, delicate components.
  • Experience working safely with chemicals, gases, or other controlled process materials.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and assembly instructions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, or building electronic, optical, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, wire bonding, precision assembly, or machine shop equipment.
  • Previous experience in semiconductor, photonics, optics, aerospace, or other advanced manufacturing environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
