About FalconX
Falcon
X is a pioneering team of operators, investors, and builders committed to revolutionizing institutional access to the crypto markets. Operating at the intersection of traditional finance and cutting‑edge technology, Falcon
X addresses the industry’s foremost challenges by providing seamless navigation through the ever‑evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
We are looking for a Trading Systems Developer (OMS & Trader Workflow) to help build Falcon
X’s next‑generation Order Management System (OMS) and trader‑facing applications. This role spans the full stack—from Java backend services and real‑time APIs to Python/Go integrations and React front‑ends—supporting the core workflows that power our institutional trading platform. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and trading teams to design and deliver performant, scalable systems.
- Develop and maintain backend services in Java, with supporting components in Python and Go.
- Design and implement normalized database schemas to model complex order life cycles and trader workflows.
- Build and enhance trader‑facing user interfaces using React, Type Script, and modern web technologies.
- Work with APIs across the stack, including Web Socket, FIX, and REST, to integrate with internal strategies and external venues.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define technical requirements and ship reliable, production‑ready code.
- Contribute to performance monitoring, alerting, and observability for the systems you help build.
- Participate in code reviews, stand‑ups, and Agile development cycles.
- Proficiency in Java, with working knowledge of Python or Go.
- Familiarity with React, Type Script, and building frontend components.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and SQL.
- Interest in electronic trading workflows, order state transitions, and real‑time system behavior.
- Comfort working with APIs and async communication (e.g., Web Socket, FIX, REST).
- Clear communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
- Exposure to trading systems (OMS/EMS), financial workflows, or crypto markets.
- Experience working with FIX protocol or market data feeds.
- Background in distributed systems or event‑driven architectures.
- Familiarity with message bus frameworks (Kafka, Aeron, Chronicle, etc.).
The base pay for this role is expected to be between $179,000 and $242,000 in New York City. The role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance‑linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
