The Accountant III under limited supervision of the Director of Accounting performs the duties and responsibilities mentioned below efficiently, effectively on a timely basis.

• Other duties may be assigned.
• Advanced analysis and reconciliation of the Hospital cash, credit cards and patient accounts receivable interface to the general ledger on a daily and monthly basis. Identify errors and make corrections in a timely manner to ensure revenue and cash are properly recognized.
• Reconciles the Hospital cash accounts receivable including preparing journal entries.
• Monthly variance analysis report for Baker and NNH outside services and maintenance contract accounts.
• Participates in the month‑end close process by preparing journal entries and analyzing various accounts, which includes monitoring activity for the month, and preparing monthly explanations of variances.
• Prepares the working papers for the 990 tax return.
• Maintains G/L Master File and Chart of Accounts.
• Acts as an interdisciplinary liaison with the Business Office.
• Assists with ad‑hoc projects as needed.

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, and/or related field with 2 years’ experience in accounting or related area, preferably in the healthcare industry.
• OR Minimum of Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, and/or related field with 5 years’ experience in accounting or related area, preferably in the healthcare industry.
• OR High School/GED with 8 years’ experience in accounting or related area, preferably in the healthcare industry.
• Intermediate computer knowledge:
  Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
