Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage tax, audit, and related assignments. The role requires independent management of client engagements, supervision and mentoring of staff, and active contribution to firm profitability.
Responsibilities- Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal supervision.
- Conduct thorough engagement reviews and recognize potential problem areas.
- Propose effective solutions and communicate findings to clients.
- Gather and analyze business data, compile reports, and provide recommendations.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through professionalism and responsiveness.
- Enhance industry skills through training and knowledge acquisition.
- Manage time and staff productivity efficiently to increase profitability.
- Supervise and mentor staff accountants.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (advanced degree preferred). 3-5 years of public accounting experience or equivalent education and work experience.
- Ability to sit for the CPA exam or have passed a section; CPA license a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to perform accurate, timely work.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize a fast paced, varied workload and manage concurrent priorities.
- Openness to constructive feedback and collaborative teamwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
- Ability to meet internal deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and domestic travel as required.
- Experience with affordable housing, low income housing tax credits, opportunity zones, renewable energy tax credits, or related areas is helpful but not mandatory.
- Competitive salary ($77,000 to $94,000, depending on experience).
