Audit​/Tax Senior

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage tax, audit, and related assignments. The role requires independent management of client engagements, supervision and mentoring of staff, and active contribution to firm profitability.

• Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal supervision.
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews and recognize potential problem areas.
• Propose effective solutions and communicate findings to clients.
• Gather and analyze business data, compile reports, and provide recommendations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships through professionalism and responsiveness.
• Enhance industry skills through training and knowledge acquisition.
• Manage time and staff productivity efficiently to increase profitability.
• Supervise and mentor staff accountants.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
• Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (advanced degree preferred). 3-5 years of public accounting experience or equivalent education and work experience.
• Ability to sit for the CPA exam or have passed a section; CPA license a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to perform accurate, timely work.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize a fast paced, varied workload and manage concurrent priorities.
• Openness to constructive feedback and collaborative teamwork.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
• Ability to meet internal deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and domestic travel as required.
• Experience with affordable housing, low income housing tax credits, opportunity zones, renewable energy tax credits, or related areas is helpful but not mandatory.
