Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to support clients with accurate and timely individual tax filings. This position is ideal for someone who is confident navigating personal tax returns, reviewing financial information carefully, and delivering dependable service throughout the tax season. The role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients, apply sound judgment, and use tax software to prepare compliant returns.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual income tax returns using client-provided financial records and supporting documentation.

- Review tax forms, income statements, deductions, and credits to ensure filings are complete and accurate.

- Gather and organize client information while identifying missing details needed to finalize returns.

- Use tax software to enter tax data, calculate liabilities or refunds, and produce finalized filings.

- Communicate with clients to clarify financial information and explain filing requirements clearly.

- Stay current on applicable tax rules affecting individual returns and apply those standards during preparation.

- Maintain organized records and support a smooth filing process by tracking deadlines and submission status.

- Assist with corrections, follow-up documentation, and updates related to submitted individual tax returns. Requirements

- Experience preparing individual tax returns in a tax or accounting environment.

- Working knowledge of personal income tax concepts, including common deductions, credits, and filing statuses.

- Proficiency with tax preparation software, including experience with Ultra Tax.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information and tax documents.

- Ability to manage multiple returns efficiently during high-volume filing periods.

- Clear communication skills for working with clients and requesting additional documentation as needed.

- Familiarity with reviewing source documents such as W-2s, 1099s, and other income-related records.
