Assists with screening waste entering the landfill scale house.
• Provides assistance to customers at the Solid & Hazardous Waste Management facilities.
• Screens materials brought in by customers; safely handles material, as needed for proper storage and disposal. Assists customers unloading Household Hazardous Waste and ensures a declaration form is completed.
• Processes transactions for tracking materials and customer charges for materials brought to County Recycling Drop-off Centers.
• Coordinates with vendors for material removal and ensures proper declaration and manifests forms are in processed.
• Assists with the County hazardous waste collection events.
• Inspects and maintains County Recycling Drop-off Centers.
• Responds to solid and hazardous waste customer complaints and inquiries.
• Completes reports of material types, material quantities, and transaction summaries.
• Collects and keeps proper records for monetary transactions in accordance with Division procedures and maintains a chain of custody for monies to be deposited.
• Provides forms, applications, receipts or other documents to visitors/customers upon request; assists customers with completing forms.
• Establishes, updates and maintains information in automated information systems; enters operational, account, and/or program information into databases; retrieves data from databases; creates new spreadsheets/files and purges old data.
• Performs other related duties as required
• High school diploma or GED required.
• One (1) year of related experience.
• Fingerprinting Required LICENSES/CERTIFICATES - Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a county vehicle as provided in CMA 5805.
Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications. Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County's Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
