GULFSHORE PLAYHOUSE SEEKS AN ASSISTANT FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER

Gulfshore Playhouse, a mission‑driven, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida, is seeking a dynamic, detail‑oriented and organized individual to serve as Assistant Front of House Manager.

Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and musical productions ranging from venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The company is passionately committed to producing high‑quality, professional theatre that exceeds the expectations of cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom are regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

Gulfshore Playhouse recently opened the Gulfshore Playhouse Baker Theatre and Education Center, a state‑of‑the‑art facility featuring a 365‑seat mainstage with a Broadway‑sized stage, a 125‑seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. In 2022, Gulfshore Playhouse became nationally recognized as the 77th member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT‑B). This is an extraordinarily exciting time for Gulfshore Playhouse as the company experiences unprecedented growth in a collaborative and creative community.

Status:
Full‑time, seasonal. Overtime exempt.

The ideal candidate must be passionate about hospitality and patron engagement, ensuring every guest enjoys a welcoming, safe, and memorable experience at Gulfshore Playhouse.

The assistant will have strong drive to provide high‑quality work, the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of the team. Gulfshore Playhouse values hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and grace‑under‑pressure. Employees will be expected to work extended hours on occasion when necessary to meet goals.

Weekend and evening hours are required, including attendance at performances, special events, and/or meetings that may happen outside normal scheduled hours.

The Assistant Front of House Manager reports directly to the Front of House Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Front of House Manager with the following:

  • Manage team of Gulfshore Playhouse volunteer ushers.
  • Recruit, train and schedule all volunteer ushers.
  • Experience with Volgistics or other scheduling software programs.
  • Schedule periodic safety training for ushers.
  • Create personalized s for ushers.
  • Facilitate usher recognition events.
  • Serve as point of contact with local emergency service providers for Gulfshore Playhouse.
  • Serve as point of contact with Gulfshore Playhouse Facilities Manager and security to maintain safe operations of the facility.
  • Manage inventory and distribution of performance programs.
  • Prepare and distribute Front of House reports.
  • Communicate with stage manager when house is seated pre‑show.
  • Determine late seating in consultation with the stage manager.
  • Remain in communication with Stage Management throughout the performance.
  • Provide services in accordance with the guidelines contained within the Employer’s employee manual and style guide.
  • Provide outstanding customer service cultivating a memorable and welcoming experience.
  • Render such other services as may reasonably be required by Employer and as are customarily furnished by a Front of House Manager at a first‑class professional theatrical organization in the United States.
  • Attend performances and assist in supervising usher and patron operations at the theatre.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Front of House Management preferred.
  • Fluency in Excel, Word and Google Drive.
  • Exemplary organizational skills required.

This is a Full‑Time Seasonal position with a salary of $925.00 per week, starting September 28, 2026 and concluding May 30, 2027.
