Construction Estimator

Overview

The Commercial Paint/Waterproofing
Estimator is responsible for providing estimates for procuring work through the leadership of the Chief Estimator. Products delivered include budgets, estimates, subcontract review, submittals and close-out documentation. The Estimator must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

• Ability to utilize On Screen Take-Off software for quantity take-offs
• Assist and develop bid strategies for projects
• Perform quantity take off, pricing, generate RFI’s, site visits and pre-bid meetings
• Thoroughly review all take-off and pricing of self-performed work
• Follow up with customers after bid submittal
• Negotiate contracts and material purchasing of all major aspects of the project to maximize sales revenue
• Develop the job cost budget and maintain the project change order costs
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge and efficiency in Spectrum software, specifically Outlook, MS Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Functions effectively as part of a team
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Time management skills and organizational skills
• Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
• Ability to accurately obtain quantities
• Work under stress with commitment to deadlines
• Sustain interpersonal relationships, which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and externally

• 3 years of industry experience in painting and/or waterproofing estimating
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• On Center and Quick Bid software experience is preferred but not required
