Position Summary

Superintendent 2 – responsible for the field operations of assigned projects to ensure safe, timely, and profitable completion. Strong leadership, organizational, time‑management, communication, and client‑service skills are required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • All responsibilities expected of a Superintendent I
  • Implement Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies
  • Participate in creating an injury‑free environment through personal actions and mentoring
  • Direct day‑to‑day on‑site supervision of field labor force
  • Review and approve trade contractor pay applications and material invoices with the Project Manager
  • Develop and maintain site logistics plan in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Manage quality program and coordinate site testing and inspection reports
  • Monitor costs, including labor time and material
  • Manage self‑perform work features
  • Control the CPM schedule and look‑ahead schedules
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute Safety, Hazcom, SWPPP, QA/QC plans
  • Attend and lead portions of project meetings (preconstruction, preinstallation, subcontractor, owner, safety) in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Create daily reports and report quantities
  • Assist with preconstruction/estimating phase of project
  • Mobilize the site and set up utilities
  • Secure necessary permits and coordinate inspections
  • Review and verify RFIs and approve submittals for processing
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with our Guiding Principles and the Way We Work

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent; education can be substituted with related experience on a one‑to‑one basis
  • 8 years of industry experience
  • Leadership experience on at least 3–4 projects or equivalent on complex smaller projects
Working Conditions & Physical Efforts
  • Adaptable to all weather conditions; required to traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
  • Must be able to stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day
  • Repetitive motion of the same movements is expected
  • Effective communication required for meetings, video conferences, and phone calls
  • Must compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence
  • Must lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Occasional travel to metropolitan or domestic sites may be required; a valid driver’s license is needed
  • Exposure to typical construction site hazards
