REPORTS TO:
Head of School
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To develop and oversee all Fine Arts classroom instruction, activities and events for First Baptist Academy in collaboration with the Music, Theater, and Art Departments at FBA.
The employee is a Christian with an authentic and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both his or her professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education. Must have excellent interpersonal and computer skills, the ability to present information concisely and effectively. Good organizational skills. Reliable, dependable and demonstrates good work habits. Organize and prioritize work, multi-task and work independently with little supervision, and must be a team player.
Cooperative spirit with parents, students, and other staff.
Minimum of a BA degree in education or equivalent teaching degree. Minimum of three years experience in teaching is preferred. Professional experience in the field of visual and performing arts. Management skills in working with people.
EssentialJob Duties
- Develop and coordinate all Visual and Performing Fine Arts programs for First Baptist Academy.
- Coordinate Fine Arts field experiences and trips.
- Coordinate communication for ACSI Student Activities events for FBA.
- Implement effective fundraising activities of the Fine Arts department to support programs.
- Provide opportunities for all levels of students to excel in the Fine Arts at FBA.
- Prepare an annual budget for all Fine Arts Departments.
- Maintain and inventory all departmental supplies and equipment.
- Serve as administrative representative for professional conferences, regional and state meetings.
- Interview teacher candidates as needed, ensuring the proper application process is followed.
- Supervise and evaluate Fine Arts faculty and staff.
- Collaborate with principals on Scheduling of Fine Arts Classes.
- Coordinate with Principals to create schedules for elementary Related Arts teachers.
- Consult with HS and MS Principals on Fine Arts course offerings and student schedules.
- May be required to teach fine arts courses in area of specialization (choir, drama, art, etc)
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
