As a Student Services Coordinator you will help students achieve personal fulfillment by providing services that support their educational and occupational life plans.
How You Will Impact Education- Prepares for and conducts parent and student conferences according to school policy.
- Provides instruction in modalities such as individual or group synchronous instruction, learning support, life skills support, itinerant support, resource room support, co‑teaching, writing lesson plans, telephone conferencing, and other programs.
- Collects data and appropriate work samples.
- Plans and conducts appointments with parents as needed.
- Assists regular education teachers with specially designed instruction when necessary.
- Participates in monthly outings as encouraged.
- Supports special education student achievement in the general class through training teachers and assisting with implementation of inclusion plans.
- Arranges and assists with training for inclusive practices.
- Acts as an informational liaison for inclusion as appropriate.
- Assists with planning classroom and testing accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Models strategies for inclusive practices.
- Provides assistance with developing and adapting curriculum materials and educational practices to meet the needs of students and teachers.
- Assists students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities through teacher comments, standardized test scores, and other data.
- Provides individual counseling sessions for assigned students addressing personal needs that affect school performance and their educational and career plans.
- Offers small and large group counseling sessions as needed.
- Assists students in course selections and scheduling; helps prevent dropouts and assists those who leave in finding alternative educational programs.
- Arranges enrollment in summer school programs to address deficiencies.
- Participates in follow‑up studies of former students to improve services and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Provides emergency support during crises.
- Provides college financial aid and scholarship resources and assists with college selection.
- Serves as a consultant to faculty on guidance services.
- Confers with staff regarding students with problems and/or special needs.
- Provides reports and data to administration as requested.
- Provides new students with orientation and information about school procedures, curriculum, and extracurricular opportunities.
- Plans and implements programs that ease transitions between grade levels and to post‑secondary education, including orientation programs for students and parents.
- Serves as a resource for information about the educational program, activities, and services.
- Supervises maintenance of cumulative records for assigned students in accordance with state and federal laws and CSUSA policy.
- Provides information and prepares recommendations to colleges for admissions and scholarships, and to employers and agencies for assigned students.
