Job DescriptionThe Paraprofessional supports teachers and school staff in providing a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for students. Reporting to the principal or campus administrator, the Paraprofessional assists with classroom instruction, student supervision, and daily classroom operations.
The Paraprofessional works closely with the classroom teacher to support student learning, reinforce instruction, and help maintain positive classroom culture. This role requires a reliable, student-centered team member who builds positive relationships with students, supports diverse learners, and contributes to a well-organized and supportive classroom environment.
Key Activities Instructional Support- Assist teachers with implementing lessons and instructional activities
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce skills and concepts
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources as directed by the teacher
- Support students during classroom activities and learning centers
- Support the teacher in maintaining consistent classroom routines
- Reinforce school-wide behavior expectations and positive behavior systems
- Help ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support diverse learners including ESE, 504, ELL, and intervention students
- Assist students with completing assignments and staying engaged in learning
- Provide supervision during transitions, lunch, recess, or other school activities as assigned
- Attend and actively participate in meetings, PD, and coaching sessions
- Follow direction and guidance from the classroom teacher and school leadership
- Complete assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner
- Uphold all school policies, procedures and professional expectations
Support teachers and school staff in creating structured, supportive classrooms where all students receive the guidance, supervision, and encouragement needed to succeed academically and socially.
Success in Year 1- Provides consistent instructional and classroom support to assigned teacher(s)
- Supports positive student behavior and classroom routines
- Classroom meets school-wide behavior expectations with minimal referrals
- Meets highly effective professionalism, i.e., arriving on time to work, submitting lesson plans and data on time

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Alignment with SMART Management & Bridge Prep Academy’s mission and values
All final candidates for this position will be asked to arrange three reference checks, one of which must be with a former manager.
Background Screening RequirementThis position requires successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, in accordance with House Bill 531 (2025).
