• Substitute teachers work on an on-call/per diem/as needed basis
• Reports in person to the school building to provide face-to-face instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans provided by the absent teacher
• Follow teaching plans with skill and fidelity
• Creates a classroom environment that is safe, orderly, conducive to learning, and consistent with the mission values and virtues of the school
• Maintains established procedures of the school and classroom
• Comply with all relevant school policies and state and federal laws and regulations
• Adhere to the school’s dress code as outlined in the employee handbook
• Manage a classroom in such a way as to create an atmosphere characterized by order, respect, wonder and joy
• Cultivate good habits among students through explicit instruction and personal example

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Higher education preferred Ability to work on-call or as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
