Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an Airworthiness Analyst with aircraft experience to support our customer at Hurlburt Field, FL. This role will provide professional support services in support of the Air Force Unmanned Systems Branch located at Hurlburt Field AFB, FL. The Unmanned Systems Branch is responsible for providing analysis, research, training, and operational and airspace integration to implement and sustain the USSOCOM Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and United States Air Force (USAF - including the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves) Small UAS (sUAS) programs.
What You Will Do
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Notices of Proposed Rule making (NPRMs) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) for AD's, as well as development of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) data packages.
- Assist with the review, development, and implementation of USSOCOM and USAF use of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) airworthiness policy and procedures. Develop Airworthiness Safety Releases (ASRs) in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificates of Waiver or Authorization (COA) applications. Provide subject matter expertise and briefings on sUAS capabilities, limitations, and airworthiness documentation required to obtain FAA COAs.
- Maintain the Airworthiness Safety Release (ASR) program in support of UAS statements of airworthiness for UAS Groups 1, 2, & 3 systems. This includes reviewing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) document, checklists for units requesting an ASR, and flow charts that support airworthiness evaluation reviews.
- Draft ASR memorandums for government review, approval, and signature.
- Track ASRs that are approved and signed by the government.
- Assist in facilitating with USAF UAS cyber security exemptions, to include aiding units using the USAF UAS cyber exemption SharePoint site.
- Assist with informing leadership on counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) efforts. Performance includes attending, coordinating, and conducting USAF/SOCOM C-UAS meetings, C-UAS testing/demo events, research and analysis, and providing/developing briefings associated with C-UAS efforts.
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- 6 years of experience in Airworthiness with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
