Key Responsibilities
  • Support the industrialization of new products in areas such as solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT), key to building reliable vehicles for space exploration.
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing and test processes that support Blue Origin’s mission.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing and test documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.

  • Support root cause analysis of process or product non‑conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance.
  • Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001), supporting a safe and sustainable future in space.
  • Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines, equipment, and test setups.
  • Identify and complete opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction, optimizing our ability to achieve our mission at scale.
Team Focus & Domain Expertise

Launch Operations sits at the heart of Blue Origin’s launch and spaceflight systems, turning design intent into hard data, clean checkouts, and flight confidence. Our Launch Engineers architect and execute integrated test campaigns for avionics, GSE, and flight hardware - from first poweron and subsystem verification to fullstack vehicle and padlevel tests that clear the way for launch day.

You won’t just run procedures; you’ll design smarter, faster, more resilient ways to test. You’ll develop and refine automated test systems, data acquisition architectures, and instrumentation strategies that push test coverage, increase speed, and boost confidence for every mission. Technical depth in areas such as digital/analog electronics, power systems, communications, sensors, DAQ, and test automation (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools) will let you dive deep when it matters - debugging issues at the bench, guiding test approaches, challenging assumptions, and setting a high technical bar for the systems you own.
